CABINET COMMITTEE ON FUND RAISING FROM BUSINESS COMMUNITY FOR EARTHQUAKE RELIEF – RS. 5.5 BILLION RELIEF MOBILIZED

Islamabad, October 19, 2005

·         947 companies, Pakistan Missions, chambers, sectoral association/ forums and Overseas Pakistanis were contacted. 

·         The appeal has received very quick and warm response from the business community.

·         184 have responded so far while others are also contributing – may inform later.

·         Rs. 5.5 billion mobilized for the earthquake relief as on 18th October, 2005.

·         Rs. 4,664.84 million has been raised for the President’s Fund, Rs. 72.7 million to other Relief Funds and contribution in kind worth Rs. 737.13 million.

·         The shaded areas indicate the information of companies, received on 18th October 2005.

·         Details of companies and their contributions are annexed.
