PC EXTENDS EOI & SOQ DATE FOR NATIONAL POWER
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION (PVT) LIMITED (NPCC) TO MARCH 20
Islamabad, February 23, 2006
Due to the
increasing interest of parties to participate in the National Power Construction
Corporation (Pvt) Limited (NPCC) transaction the Privatisation Commission (PC)
has extended the date for submission of EOI and SOQ up to 20 March 2006. PC had
earlier invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) and Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)
from qualified strategic investors with experience of handling similar large
power projects being handled by NPCC on a turn key basis or consortia preferably
in partnership with financially sound Pakistani companies interested in
acquiring 51% interest in NPCC including the management control, through
advertisement in the national press in mid October 2005 with last date for the
submission of the EOI and SOQ respectively 25 October 2005 and 30 November 2005.
Now the date has been extended to March 20, 2006. The Government may also offer
a certain percentage of the ownership of NPCC to the employees of NPCC in case
they are interested.

amongst top contractors, is a specialist contracting outfit for turnkey
