President Pervez Musharraf promulgated the
Ordinance for the Establishment of the Intellectual Property Organisation of
Pakistan on Wednesday.
The Ordinance shell come into force at one and shall be deemed to have taken
effect on August 7, 2005.
Intellectual Property includes patents, industrial designs, layout designs of
integrated circuits, copyrights, service marks, trade marks, technical know how
and ideas for new products and markets etc. The organization will be autonomous
under the administrative control of Cabinet Division.
